A cornerstone of The Center for Arts & Culture at Bed-Stuy Restoration, the Youth Arts Academy provides multidiscplinary arts instruction in dance, music and drama for children between the ages of 3 and 18 years old. Instruction takes place after school and on Saturdays from October 2015 through June 2016, as well as through a summer intensive in July and August 2016.

Offerings include beginner through intermediate ballet, Creative Movement, African drumming, African dance, hip-hop, praise, jazz, tap and basic acting; as well as advanced classes in ballet and Horton.

In addition, pre-professional programming is provided for youth interested in pursuing careers in dance. Unique to the program, advanced dance students have the opportunity to learn from professional choreographers and dancers through our ChoreoQuest program, including Ron K. Brown, Nathan Trice, Germaul Barnes and more. The Academy's signature dance ensemble, the Restoration Dance Theatre Company (RDTC) is comprised of advanced level students selected on an audition basis.

Our students are accepted into some of the most coveted performing arts schools in New York City while alumnae have gone on to professional careers on Broadway and in film.
