Disrupting the racial wealth gap means providing essential support in the neighborhoods facing the largest financial barriers in the path to economic prosperity. As a provider for the New York City Empowerment Center for over 10 years, Restoration strives to equip the residents of Central Brooklyn with the financial tools, skills and confidence to overcome challenges and achieve financial success.
The Center for Personal Financial Health offers no-cost, direct-facing financial support and resources to community members that enable them to build financial empowerment and stability. Our dedicated team of financial counselors have years of experience providing expert advice to clients, meeting them where they are to help them arrive at where they need to be.

Our coaches help clients create plans for saving, budgeting, investing, improving their credit scores, and reducing their debt.
Restoration provides free tax assistance to thousands of Central Brooklyn residents every tax season, both virtually and in person. In the 2022 tax season alone, our counselors helped to file over 3,600 returns, helping to secure over $5 million in tax returns cumulatively to clients. Tax assistance is also provided year round through our Center for Personal Financial Health. Our counselors will walk you through the process to ensure your refunds are maximized.
We offer a wide range of public benefit enrollments designed to meet the needs of the client and connect them to employment, stability and self-sufficiency. Restoration’s Care Coordination team provides access to compassionate, experienced professionals including case managers, lawyers, financial counselors, HPD housing ambassadors, and social workers, that work with clients to address their unique needs and find proactive, lasting solutions to the challenges they are facing.
