Restoration receives “Best of New York” Award
May 9 –Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation was recently honored with the “Best of New York” (BONY) Award at the New York City College of Technology’s (commonly known as City Tech) Foundation Award dinner. Restoration President and CEO Colvin Grannum accepted the award on behalf of all honorees. The dinner was held in the newly constructed City Tech campus building at 300 Jay Street at their Downtown Brooklyn campus. Former Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz served as Dinner Chair and Master of Ceremonies.
Restoration was one of several organizations and philanthropists honored at the event, including the Consortium for Workers’ Education and Brooklyn Historical Society. Mr. Grannum spoke on behalf of the award winners, praising each organization’s dedication to their work and for “celebrating our community.”
The City Tech Foundation was chartered in 1981 to raise funds for the College. Proceeds from the annual dinner are used to fund scholarships and other student financial assistance as well as student/faculty professional development programs. Congratulations to this year’s honorees and award winners!
