Restoration one of 20 “Spark Prize” Finalists for Brooklyn Non Profits
October 18th- Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation (Restoration) was selected as one of 20 finalists for the $100,000 Spark Prize presented by the Brooklyn Community Foundation. The Spark Prize honors Brooklyn born nonprofits making a difference in lives of residents through equity, inclusion, and a future forward vision. Restoration was selected from 130 applicants. Five winners will be announced in January.
In addition to awarding the Spark Prize, the Brooklyn Community Foundation is also matching up to $5,000 of donations contributed to finalists for #BrooklynGives on Giving Tuesday on November 27th.
#BrooklynGives on Giving Tuesday has partnered with the finalist organizations to raise money on a day made popular as a day to support philanthropic causes throughout the country following the copious levels of consumption exercised on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Each campaign will unite under the Brooklyn Community Foundation to connect with individuals about their causes with a goal to raise $1 million dollars in 24 hours.
