Featured Speaker: Michael Hall
Michael Hall is a tenured financial service professional with a history of education, and community service.
Currently, Michael is a financial counselor with Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corp. the nation’s first community development corporation (CDC) in the country. He is certified through the Office of Financial Education and specializes in debt management, credit repair, and retirement and college savings. Previously, Michael was with TIAA-CREF, Inc., a leader in the asset management of nonprofit and education-related employees.
Prior to joining TIAA-CREF, Michael began his career in financial services in the Wealth Management division of Charles Schwab & Co. Soon thereafter, he was selected to become one of the first spokespersons for the firm's African-American Investment Initiative launched in 1999 in collaboration with Ariel Investment, LLC. In this role, Michael was responsible for investor education, marketing and client acquisition. He frequently represented the initiative through television, radio and print media including CNN Money, CNBC, 1190 am WLIB, and the Amsterdam News.
Michael resides in the Bedford Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn and is active both politically and civically in his community. He also considers himself an amateur architect/renovator, having renovated several Brooklyn brownstones over the last decade.
