Environmental Leadership Program Acceptance- Congratulations to Restoration Staffer!
Restoration would like to congratulate Center for Healthy Neighborhoods' new Program Manager, Alexis A. Harrison, for her acceptance into the Eastern Regional Network Fellowship sponsored by the Environmental Leadership Program (ELP). ELP works with emerging leaders to support visionary, action-oriented, and diverse leadership for a just and sustainable future. For over two decades, the ELP Board, staff, and alumni have worked to design an organization that could help nurture the next generation of environmental leaders and stimulate a broad discussion of the future of the environmental and social change movement.
In this program, Alexis will join 19 other emerging environmental and social change leaders from the Eastern Region, including New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. Together, the fellow will go through intensive leadership and skill training and develop a “toolkit” of strategies to drive transformative change. Over the course of the program, fellows will develop a personal leadership plan (PLP), participate in workshops and conferences, meet in small groups, and participate in 3 virtual retreats focusing on building community, systems thinking, and developing resilience and strengths-based leadership.
With a background in sustainability and urban planning and a graduate degree at MIT, Alexis leads our food system and micromobility work driven by her commitment to racial equity and wealth creation for Central Brooklyn residents. We look forward to supporting Alexis’ growth as an emerging leader.
