Congratulations to all the 2021 Breakthrough Technology Fellows!
Congratulations to all the 20 high-performing 2021 Breakthrough Technology Fellows for their capstone presentations on April 26, 2021 at the Marcy Lab School! Our current class consists of Fellows who have taken the initiative to seek out an alternative pathway to a career in software engineering. They come from diverse backgrounds, but they all share grit, work ethic, and a passion for tech.
Pictured in center is Dillen Lewis who left Restoration, as a Front-End Web Designer, to join the program. Breakthrough Demo Day honored and celebrated our Fellows' growth, hard work, and the incredible community that they built. It was also an opportunity to showcase the civic tech capstone projects to a larger audience and receive feedback from tech community leaders.
The Breakthrough Technology Fellowship is a new program from the Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation in partnership with the Marcy Lab School designed to help underemployed college and technical training program graduates transition into full-time employment as software engineers. We equip Fellows with the technical and leadership skills, portfolios, and professional networks they need to land their first jobs and go on to excel on a path to promotion within their companies.
