Broadband discount for eligible households

As of May 12, 2021, New Yorkers – including NYCHA residents and Section 8 participants – can apply to receive a temporary discount for current or new monthly internet service subscriptions. If you are eligible, you can receive:

  • Up to $50 a month for broadband internet service and associated equipment rentals, and
  • Up to $100 for a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer (with a co-payment of $10-$50) through an internet provider, where available.

This discount is available as part of the federal government’s Emergency Broadband Benefit, designed to assist low-income households during the COVID-19 pandemic. Go to www.fcc.gov/broadbandbenefit to see FAQs and to get other information about the program.

Apply now! The funds are limited and are being distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until they run out.
