Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation to Host 37th Annual 10K Run and 5K Walk
New York, September 27, 2018 – Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation – known as “Restoration” – will host the 37th Annual 10K Run and 5K Walk on Sunday, October 7th. Tremaine S. Wright, who represents Bedford-Stuyvesant and northern Crown Heights in the New York State Assembly, will be the master of ceremonies. Registration will take place at 8.00am at Restoration Plaza, located at 1368 Fulton Street. The race will begin at 10am.
Morning workouts will be lead by Alwayz Fit 4 Lyfe instructor Nakisha Smith. In addition to the race for adults, the“Kiddie Run,” will be held for children 5-12 years old on Herkimer Street adjacent to Restoration Plaza.
Departing from Restoration Plaza, the race route winds past historic brownstones in the heart of Bed-Stuy. For the past 37 years, the Restoration run has become one of the premier 10Ks held in New York City and attracts people of all ages and fitness levels.
Cash prizes will be given to the top three male and female runners. Medals will also be awarded to the first 50 female runners as well as all children participating in the Kiddie Run. Other highlights of the event include T-shirt give-aways, refreshments provided by Super Foodtown and DJ Berry Blends taking over the turntables.
