Our Better Bike Share Partnership provides a convenient, affordable, and healthy option for getting around New York City.
Bike Share provides New Yorkers with a convenient, affordable, and sustainable option for getting around the City. In addition, it serves as a valuable and accessible method of physical activity that directly contributes to the wellbeing of its users.
Since 2015, Restoration has led the Better Bike Share Partnership to advance equitable access to bike share and economic opportunities for Central Brooklyn residents. The Partnership highlights the importance of bike share as a transit option as well as a tool for strengthening communities and for personal health benefits. As a result, ridership has increased substantially increasing ridership substantially and a blueprint has been developed to continue advancing transportation equity so that every New Yorker recognizes bike share as a valuable and accessible community asset.
Restoration released the second report on the NYC Better Bike Share Partnership. The report details the Partnership’s efforts to increase equity within the micromobility sector from 2017 through 2020 and outlines its goals of fostering equity and opportunity for communities of color through public transportation.
Restoration released the first comprehensive report in 2017, created in partnership with the National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO), on the success of the Better Bike Share Partnership in Bedford Stuyvesant and how the program could be replicated in other low-income communities of color.
