38th Annual 10K Run and 5K Walk — “Wellness is Wealth”
Restoration’s annual athletic event, 38th Annual 10K Run and 5K Walk returns to Restoration Plaza on Sunday, October 13th. This year’s event seeks to engage our community in healthy living with providing education and resources to our community. Besides the classic staples-- 10K Run, 5K Walk, and 100 Yard Kiddie Dash -- the event will feature a wellness component to introduce new and innovative ways for the community to increase health and wellness awareness.
The Center for Healthy Neighborhoods (CHN), a Restoration department will anchor the wellness corner to highlight their work and offerings while inviting other community partners to showcase their efforts to get our neighbors moving, eating, and thinking in healthier ways.
The Center for Healthy Neighborhoods is a recognized leader in the areas of food access and equity, exercise, pedestrian and bike awareness and community wellness. While focusing on exercise, CHN also promotes health advocacy that draws attention to the wide health disparities that affect our communities.
We invite our neighbors to talk, engage, and learn more about mobilizing ourselves for better health outcomes, improving our and our families’ health, and accessing existing resources.
