The Board of Elections in the City of New York is an administrative body comprising ten Commissioners -- two from each borough -- chosen through recommendation by both political parties and appointed by the City Council for a term of four years. The Commissioners, in turn, appoint a bipartisan staff to oversee the daily activities of the Board’s main office in Manhattan and five borough offices.
