Youth Arts Academy

The cornerstone of Restoration’s Center for Arts & Culture, Restoration provides multi-disciplinary arts instruction to Central Brooklyn youth through our Youth Arts Academy. Located in Restoration Plaza at 247 Herkimer Street, classes are offered after school and all day on Saturdays in beginner to advanced Dance, Theatre and African Drumming. For students interested in pursuing dance professionally, the Academy offers a pre-professional program and the opportunity to join the audition-based Restoration Dance Theatre Company which performs professionally throughout New York City and abroad.

n addition to onsite classes, YAA provides arts enrichment and professional development to public school students and teachers through our Arts in Action Program. Restoration is currently working with PS. 93, CS 21 and Excellence Boys Charter School.
Students learn discipline, respect and artistic excellence in a supportive, creative environment. Unique learning and performance opportunities include DanceAfrica, which is hosted in partnership with the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
