Restoration is deeply committed to the physical and economic revitalization of the Bed-Stuy Gateway Business District. The Bed-Stuy Gateway Business District - encompassing Fulton Street from Franklin Avenue to Marcus Garvey Boulevard, and Nostrand Avenue from Halsey Street to Atlantic Avenue) is Bedford-Stuyvesant's primary shopping and commercial district. As managing agent for the BID which became operational in October 2009, Restoration oversees district-wide sanitation, maintenance, security, marketing and promotion, landscaping, beautification and day-to-day administration.

Restoration Plaza lies at the heart of this major shopping hub. We continue to transform the physical and economic landscape of our community through ambitious renovations to our historic plaza that have created a more accessible, pedestrian friendly, and energy efficient hub capable of sustaining and indeed growing the 1.5 million visits drawn to Restoration Plaza each year and attracting quality businesses that meet community needs.

Come see the exciting new developments taking place in Bed Stuy! The $9 million Fulton Street Streetscape project with the NYC Economic Development Corporation, Department of Transportation and Department of Parks and Recreation is currently underway with completion slated for late summer. Restoration staff also spearheaded the creation of Marcy Plaza, an 8,000 square foot public plaza soon to be located directly across from Restoration Plaza. The $1.5 million project will take place on the intersection of Fulton Street and Marcy Avenue and will include plantings, trees, benches and art work and is set to be completed in early fall.
