On Wednesday, July 25th, Restoration and Brooklyn Alliance for Safer Streets (BASS) hosted Healthy Families on the Move, a weekly activity of walks, runs and rides throughout Central Brooklyn. Healthy Families on the Move provides Brooklynites with a safe and fun outlet to walk, run and ride their bicycles to a healthier body. A Healthy Families on the Move will be held every Wednesday from now until October 3rd, 2012.

Though she had one goal in mind, she took advantage of an array of services as she supported herself through school. Food is not just a commodity, it nourishes our bodies, our families and our community, but too many people are not able to make the right choices when it comes to eating healthy. This is especially true in Bedford-Stuyvesant where nearly 15% of residents suffer from diabetes and 27% of adults are obese, higher then the average citywide data of: 12.5% diabetes and 23% obesity rates as researched by the New York City Department of Health (NYC DOH).
