Assemblyman Walter Mosley of the 57th district visited the staff and members of Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation's Jobs Plus program on November 14th, 2014 to learn about the program and recent accomplishments. The Jobs Plus program in Northern Bedford Stuyvesant has done a remarkable job since its' doors opened May 1, 2013 to residents of Marcy, Lafayette and Louis Armstrong houses in Brooklyn, NY.

Runners took to the streets in Bedford-Stuyvesant Sunday to take on one of Brooklyn's longest-running races. Hundreds of residents ran in the 10-kilometer race, which is in its 33rd year. Organizers say the event celebrates the neighborhood's culture and history while promoting a healthy lifestyle. News 12's own Crystal Walker had a role as master of ceremonies, passing out awards. Fresh and Slick Rick are kicking off a weeklong Bed-Stuy love fest with a free concert on Fulton St. The two performers responsible for the mid-80s hip hop classic “La Di Da Di” will headline the eighth-annual Revolution Rocks show on Oct. 11. The concert, which draws up to 3,000 people, is the opening event for Bed-Stuy Alive!, a multi-day showcase of the neighborhood’s art galleries, architecture and culture.

One of our artists in residence is the Brooklyn Youth Chorus. BYC offers a weekly vocal music program at Bed-Stuy Restoration Corporation on Wednesdays. Students will sing, make new friends and perform twice a year for family and friends. BYC is holding auditions for interested 7- 9 year olds (2nd - 4th grade) in the upcoming weeks to start in early- to mid-September.
